Tim Robbie has spent a lifetime dedicated to sports in South Florida. After graduating from Tulane University in 1977, he joined the staff of the original Fort Lauderdale Strikers as the Media Relations Director for four seasons. Overseeing the memorably fun and phenomenal Strikers teams which included George Best, Gordon Banks and other international stars. He then took over as the team's General Manager from 1981-83 when the team went to two consecutive NASL semifinals and maintained its streak of never missing the playoffs.

 

Moving with the team in 1984, Robbie would remain General Manager through 1987 of the Minnesota Strikers. Tim Robbie would return to South Florida at the end of 1987 to serve as the VP/Public Affairs of the Miami Dolphins for three seasons before becoming Team President from 1990-1994.

 

After leaving the Dolphins with the sale of the team, Tim would remain in South Florida and would eventually find himself back involved with soccer. Tim Robbie served on the West Broward YMCA Capital Campaign Committee, which raised more than $8 million to build a state-of-the-art YMCA facility at Weston Regional Park in the late 90s/early 2000s. A Weston resident himself, Tim also served as President of the Weston FC youth club from 03-07. 

 

With the return of the Fort Lauderdale Strikers to the NASL in 2011, Robbie found himself back with the Strikers, this time as team president. In his first season the team would reach the NASL Championship Series and pick up where the original Strikers left off by never failing to qualify for the post season. Tim Robbie now begins his first season as the Strikers' Managing Director of Team Personnel and Stadium Development with the task of helping to secure a long term home for the Strikers well into the future.
