    2012: On March 6, 2012 the Fort Lauderdale Strikers acquired center back Jack Stewart from the Minnesota Stars FC in exchange for Martin Nuñez. Stewart brings a wealth of experience to the Strikers, and can play on the right or center of defence.

    Stewart made his debut with the Strikers in the opening match of the season against FC Edmonton on April 7th. Together with defensive partner Toni Ståhl, Stewart helped the Strikers shutout the opposition in the first two matches of the season, including former club Minnesota Stars FC.

    Stewart was named the NASL Defensive Player of the Week following the Strikers 1-0 shutout victory against FC Edmonton at Lockhart Stadium on June 16. 

    Professional: The Chicago Fire drafted Stewart as the tenth overall pick in the 2005 MLS SuperDraft. He played in a limited number of games before he was traded to Real Salt Lake during the 2006 season. Stewart was waived by RSL at the end of 2007.

    Stewart decided to explore his options overseas, and signed with Moss FK of the Norwegian Adeccoligaen. He didn’t play a single game and was released midseason, later moving to Nybergsund IL, who finished above Moss in the table.

    On February 13, 2009, Carolina RailHawks FC signed Jack Stewart after a spending a year abroad without getting any playing time. He suffered a serious leg injury and made just six appearances with the RailHawks.

    After nearly two years out of the game spent recovering from the injury, Jack Stewart signed for the NSC Minnesota Stars in 2011, and quickly assumed a starting role in central defense. His good performances earned him a return to Major League Soccer on loan to FC Dallas for the remainder of the 2011 season. With Dallas, Stewart scored the only goal in a 1-0 victory against Toronto FC in a CONCACAF Champions League group stage match.

    Amateur: During his senior year at the University of Notre Dame, Stewart played with amateur side Indiana Invaders of the USL Premier Development League.

    College: Jack Stewart played four years of college soccer at the University of Notre Dame between 2001 and 2004. He was named All-Big East his junior and senior seasons.

    Personal: Stewart is the President of Cooking with Athletes, a website to created to share what athletes eat, and encourage better eating habits for athletes everywhere.
