2013: The Fort Lauderdale Strikers acquired 19-year old goalkeeper Richard Sanchez on loan from FC Dallas of MLS on July 23.
The Mexican youth international made his professional debut for the Strikers in the first match of the Fall NASL Season. Sanchez started the 2-1 defeat to The New York Cosmos on August 3, and has kept his place in the side since.
Professional: Sanchez signed as a homegrown player with FC Dallas of MLS on February 18, 2011. In 2012, Sanchez made five appearances for the FC Dallas Reserves, logging a 2-1-1 record, 1.50 GAA and 360 minutes of playing time. He is yet to make his debut for the first team.
International: Sanchez is the goalkeeper for the Mexico U-20 national team. He was the starting goalkeeper the Mexican team that won the 2011 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Mexico. Sanchez posted a 2-0 shutout in the final against Uruguay in front of 98,943 at the Azteca.
