
FORT LAUDERDALE, FL (MARCH 28, 2011) – The Fort Lauderdale Strikers announced today that they have signed Midfielder Patrick Otte and Goalkeeper Phillip Lamarre. Per team policy, details of the contracts were not disclosed.
"Pat is an exciting, attacking player. He can help us in the midfield or up top," said Head Coach Daryl Shore. "We are happy to add Phil to close out what we feel is an exciting group, all of whom will compete for the number one spot."
Otte, 19, was a member of the United States U-18 Men’s National Team. The 5'8" midfielder from Thousand Oaks, California spent time at England's Middlesborough Academy. He also played most recently with the Ventura County Fusion in California.
Lamarre, 23, is a native of Margate, Florida and played college soccer at Florida Atlantic University, before transferring to Florida International University his senior year. In his junior year at FAU, Lamarre held the school record for most shutouts, most saves, and most wins. He started his professional career in 2010 when he signed with FC Tampa Bay.
