Preseason Report Day 8

Preseason Report Day 8

The Strikers had a light session today in preparation for their upcoming closed door friendly on Saturday afternoon. Head Coach Shore and Assistant Jim Rooney led the team through a variety of short but intense drills and exercises. Tomorrow’s friendly is a good chance for some of the players that are on the bubble to show Head Coach Shore that they belong on his final roster.

Cuts have been made through out the week and the squad is getting smaller and smaller while the Strikers continue their journey through preseason.

The team started off their session with the usual quick warm up around the field followed by a lengthy stretch.

Field players spread out around a large grid and broke into two groups with one group working on passing and the other on receiving their passes.

Goalkeepers started off training by working on defending crosses with attackers crashing the net.

After several other passing drills the team began a shooting drill, which the players enjoyed.

Training concluded today with a short scrimmage and a long cool down with tomorrow’s match on everyone’s mind. Players have the afternoon off to rest.
