Strikers Face Copa Latina All-Stars Sunday

The Fort Lauderdale Strikers 2013 preseason continues on Sunday, March 10, at 5pm with a match against the Copa Latina All-Stars. A little more than a year has passed since the Strikers traveled to Ted Hendricks Stadium in Hialeah, Fla. during last year's preseason. The boys from Lockhart came away from the match with a 2-2 draw on goals from rookies Darnell King (pictured above) and Aly Hassan.
"The Copa Latina Tournament is probably the best amateur tournament in the country with a lot of good players who come through it," said Strikers head coach Daryl Shore. "For us it's an opportunity to see some of the players who may not have played in the first preseason game and more of our young players as it will be a test for us."
Fort Lauderdale returns to Copa Latina as the tournament is set to crown its twenty-first champion and the team continues preparations for the 2013 Spring season. The match is scheduled for kick off at 5pm with the tournament final to follow as Blue Star Honduras and Haiti All-Stars duel for the 2013 title. Admission is $5 for adults and $2 for children with all Strikers season ticket holders admitted free of charge.
The Copa Latina All-Stars are composed of players who participated in the tournament and were selected through a tryout process held over the course of the tournament. The Strikers current training camp roster follows in alphabetical order; Mark Anderson, Stefan Antonijevic, Daniel Arcila, Phil Boerger, Lionel Brown, Nicholas Chase, Justin Chavez, Gonzalo De Mujica, Stefan Dimitrov, David Foley, Matt Glaeser, Manny Gonzalez, Scott Gordon, Ivan Guerrero, Andy Herron, Eduardo Jimenez, Darnell King, Cody Laurendi, Michael Munoz, Pecka, Hosman Ramos, Walter Restrepo, Carlos Salazar, David Santamaria, Toni Stahl, Kenold Versailles, Tony Walls.
