2013: On November 19, 2012 the Strikers confirmed that Gordon would be back for another season with his hometown club. With Aly Hassan on loan to CD Aurora in Bolivia, Gordon switched from number 83 to his preferred number 15.

2012: In a press release during December 2011, the Fort Lauderdale Strikers announced that the team exercised his option on Scott Gordon and he would be returning to the team ahead of the 2012 NASL season.

Major League Soccer side FC Dallas rekindled their interest in Gordon during the offseason. He spent preseason with the club, however he was unable to earn a contract. Gordon then had a successful trial with a different MLS club, signing for Chivas USA on March 16, 2012. He made three appearances in Major League Soccer with the Los Angeles based club before being waived on July 6.

On July 12, 2012 the Fort Lauderdale Strikers announced that Scott Gordon would be returning to the club. He chose to wear the unorthodox number 83 as his former number 15 was occupied by Aly Hassan.

Gordon partnered Toni Ståhl in the center of defense and finished the season making 12 appearances in the league and playoffs. He scored one goal and one assist, both coming in the 4-2 loss against the Atlanta Silverbacks on August 4.

2011: FC Dallas drafted Gordon in the third round (53rd overall) of the of the 2011 MLS SuperDraft. Despite a significant amount of involvement in FC Dallas’ preseason, he was not offered a contract by the club. Gordon returned Florida to sign his first professional contract with his hometown club, the Fort Lauderdale Strikers, on April 1, 2011.

On April 29th, less than a month after signing with the Strikers, Gordon made his professional debut against the Puerto Rico Islanders. Coming off of the bench in the 66th minute, Gordon scored his first professional goal in the final minutes of the game, securing a 2-2 draw for the Strikers at the Estadio Juan Ramón Loubriel, in Bayamón, Puerto Rico.

Gordon featured 23 times in all competitions with the Strikers during the 2011 NASL season, appearing at left back, right back, and at the center of defense. He scored a single goal and provided one assist.

Amateur: During his last year at college, Gordon played in the USL Premier Development League with the Baton Rouge Capitals. He made 14 appearances and scored one goal.

College: Gordon began his college career at Mercer University in 2006, but after one season transferred to Lynn University in Boca Raton. As the captain of the Fighting Knights, Gordon started 28 games, scored goals and tallied four assists. As a senior he was recognized as a two-time All-Sunshine State Conference honoree, and collected NSCAA All-South Region recognition honors.
