G’day Miami fans,
Today I am starting my quest to be the best Miami FC blogger ever. It shouldn’t be that hard my only competition is Jarryd Goldberg. If it’s anything like FIFA 10’ then I'd say it's a wrap. Said with love, Goldberg, said with love!
I am blogging to the Miami faithful today from the comfort of my hotel room since we are on the road in Austin, Texas. Tonight’s match pitches us up against the 1st place Austin Aztex. We are extremely hungry to get a result. We have a new coach as you all know and he has us ready to go. Tune in tonight at www.miamifc.com to catch the game.
It is extremely hot here in Austin so we have been shacked up in the hotel as we do most away games anyway. I’m in the superb company of Lance Parker, my roommate on the road. I have to say he is a quality roommate; he plays some nice chill music and sleeps a lot, just like me. He also provides the movies when we are on the road. He brought to my attention the comedian Pablo Francisco and his DVD “Ouch”. If you have not seen it, I recommend that you get a little YouTube action happening and see what he’s all about. He is a very funny man!
You will all be happy to know that the foreigners applied for a credit card this road trip. My good friend Marty Lancaster is all about a bargain. Marty is a wheeler and dealer. I was off grabbing some breakfast in the Atlanta airport and when I came back to the gate Marty was signing up for a credit card. I asked him what it was all about, “ If you sign up for a credit card, you get a free round trip ticket AND a free water bottle,” he told me. Once Marty knew there was a free anything it was game over, he was signing up. So, being the good mate that I am, I decided to join him in his quest to obtain a credit card, (as did Shriver and the Brazilian boys) as we both so far can't get one in the land of the Red, White and Blue. Even though I didn’t get the water bottle, I got a nice neck pillow filled like a bean bag. Quality pillow. Marty trumped us all, getting a water bottle, neck pillow and a teddy bear. That’s amazing! My hat goes off to the Englishman.
I couldn't close out my first blog entry without giving a little shout out to my friends and the LeBatard show. Stugotz had said live on radio that he could score 6 out of 10 penalty kicks on any goalkeeper. He was set to come out to one of the last home games, but I hear he had to pike out due to a dinner date with the wifey. I hope she doesn't crack the whip too hard this time and he can make it out soon and put all this talk to bed. For those that are interested, here is a little clip we have sent to Stugotz. Until next time friends, take it easy!
