G’day Miami fans,
I thought I’d get my blog on this afternoon. I’ve just finished watching probably the best show on T.V. “The First 48”. It’s a real-life murder show that takes you on the crime scene with the detectives and it shows them catching the killer and all the stuff that goes into solving a crime. Pretty solid show if you are looking to pass a little time. It’s on A&E. Thank me later, you will love it.
Thank you to all who came out to support us on Saturday night. It was a tough contest against our local rivals the Rowdies. Well done to Chucky, Danilo and Martin for their first goals for the team. Chucky came up big at the back post to bury his header, while Danillo had a little one, two with the ref to smash his into the back of the net. The big towering giant that is Martin Nunez made a crafty run to round the keeper and slot it home to tie the game for us.
This week we embark upon a weeklong road trip. We will hit up and Rochester, NY this weekend and we played against Carolina on Wednesday. Personally, it was a chance to play against my old team, the Railhawks, and see some familiar faces again.
I arrived after the team on Tuesday. I had to go pay my friends at the traffic court a visit. As I sat there waiting for the Judge to call my name, I had a chance to listen to a few cases before mine, one lady had her license suspended for a year, another guy lost his for five years after driving with an expired license, then he tried to argue a little bit with the judge. I was like “Dude, come on… you just got caught without a license. How can you possibly think you can argue?” But his argument was to no avail….obviously. Then I hear “Caleb Sewell” I’m like uh-oh here we go. They decided they would give me a nice little fine of $400. You might think that is a big fine… I think it’s a HUGE fine! Especially since the cop gave me a ticket for not having a Florida license but a Tennessee license. What cop gives you a ticket for that anyway? Talk about having too much time on your hands. Oh, and one more thing: He was eating pizza while giving me a ticket. Unbelievable!
I arrived in Raleigh at the hotel just in time for dinner. That was huge! I like my food! Then Chris Gbandi decided he would engage us all in a game of “dice rolling”. I guess that’s what you call it, I have no idea. Each player has three $1 notes, you lay them in front of you, you roll three dice. You can roll a dot; that means you keep a dollar. Or if it lands on “R” you slide a dollar right to the person beside you, or “L” to the person to the left, or “C” and that goes in the pot in the middle. If you understand the game from my diagram above, then great! If not that’s okay, because all you really need to know is, I WON! It came down to Gbandi and I. It was his roll and he rolled a “C” and I was the only one left with money so the winner takes all. I am now 2 for 2 in all of Gbandi’s games. So for that I say “thank you” Mr. Gbandi, please come again!
Tomorrow tune in to www.miamifc.com to watch the game at 7 p.m. against the Rhinos, it is a must win game for us, as are all the games from here on out. We are playing better each week and I think this road trip could turn out very fruitful for us.
Until next time, I have left you all with a few of my teammates that were game enough to sit in my hot seat to take a few questions. Enjoy!
